More from the green fields of Northumberland.

As the evenings grow gradually lighter the clamour from under the stairs becomes louder. This means it will soon be time to release the gardener from his winter hibernation and set him loose on the acres of overgrown scrub land I laughingly like to call 'the garden'.
This year, Hey You!, for that is his name will have to decide on a new rotation system for the asparagus fields, not to mention making a new run for the foi gras geese. I haven't yet decided on whether to enlarge the sturgeon pond, I am becoming a little bored with Caviar but time will tell, I may yet get the taste back and will regret not getting Hey You! to do it should a shortage occur. Much thought needed on that one I should say.
On a lighter note, my see food diet is going great guns and I am well on track to be at my target weight before the summer prancing season begins. It was highly embarrassing last season when my best prancing shorts split at a very inopportune moment. I don't think the Vicar will ever recover and it will be a while before I'm allowed back into the freestyle carpet bowls competition.
Still enough of this, cook is calling to ask about this evenings banquet so I'll be off.
Toodle pip!

Sunday Sun

I am getting monumentally pissed off with everyone calling the Sun on Sunday the Sunday Sun.
The Sunday Sun is a North East England newspaper established in 1919 not the new Rupert Murdoch rag.
I will say no more for fear of getting into a rant, but let us be clear:

THE SUNDAY SUN IS NOT THE SUN ON SUNDAY!

Oops, dropped into rant mode there.

Another blog

Here's a link to Gus's blog:

4 now.

All is not lost!  I recovered my missing follower, he now follows on Google Reader and I've gained a new one after I posted my blog to Twitter. I am up to 4 followers.
So, all I have to do now is post my blogs to Twitter and be really interesting. I think I've found the flaw in my argument, its the interesting bit that will need some work.
Anyway, off to get coffee and take the cats to the vet. Interesting, eh?

Only two now.

I appear to have lost a follower on my blog. Only two now.
I really should write more but I'm just not that interesting.
I think I will have to give some consideration to what I am going to write about, get some discipline and write a regular series of comments. Probably once a week, on a Sunday about my thoughts about the preceding days happenings.
This time last week I was in Edinburgh with my wife, my brother and his wife having just enjoyed a splendid trip around the Scotch Whisky Experience followed by a lovely meal at their Amber Restaurant. Both I thoroughly recommend.
My wife and I then went down to Bristol to watch a recording of the show Deal or No Deal, look out for the baldy bloke near the front.
I've also had a couple of day trips to York and Leeds this week, both very good places to buy beer, mind you so are Edinburgh and York. In fact I just joined CAMRA, so look out for beer related rubbish as well. Currently I am very fond of Belhaven Best, but that is not all I will be drinking. Looking forward to the Beer Festival in Newcastle at the Northumbria Uni Students Union in April.
I am a bit wary of getting too controversial or political on here but rest assured I can rant with the best of them when it comes to the shenanigans of this current shower who claim to be the government.
Anyway, I'm gong to post the link to this on Twitter and see if I can encourage some more people to follow my ramblings (this means you Gus).
More later.

Manchester

Well, I went with two pals to a really good Chinese restaurant in Manchester on Wednesday night. The hot and sour soup was sublime, the spare ribs coated in oats were splendid and the main courses of Pork, Beef and Garlic Chicken were superb.
The staff were friendly and after a slow start, attentive.
The only drawback with the place is that.....

I can't remember it's bloody name!

If you ever stumble across it though, do go for the Fortune Cookie Banquet.

Hope that helped with finding a good venue to eat when in Manchester.

Today

After a spot of light garden tidying, freezer sorting and clothes washing I am now settling down to a spot of light doing sweet FA.
Speaking of settling I wish that I could settle on a topic or series of topics about which to blog so that I can broaden my follower base.
I will have to give some serious thought to what I am going to talk about in the future.
Thinking time commences now and any (sensible) suggestions will be welcome.
