So, went to Tynemouth market, very good, a lot of variety and some decent stuff on the farmers market.
Strange though, the one time I don't listen to NUFC on the radio they get stuffed. Still at least the teams below us were beaten as well so it could have been worse. All we need now is Man U to beat Arsenal by 6 or more and we will move up a place on goal difference without winning.
Back in from the pub, won the meat draw, two weeks running, we'll be getting lynched. Gammon for dinner the rest of the week now I think.
Anyway, didn't win the lotto so go to bed not a millionaire yet again, I'd swap a meat draw win for a couple of millions on the lotto.

Afternoon all (3 of you)
I thought I would have a quiet Friday afternoon doing nothing, a bit like most Friday afternoons but this time I've taken the time off work. Anyway, here I am taking time off from sitting in front of a computer writing by sitting in front of a computer writing.
I may go for a snooze shortly because this blogging mullarky is very tiring, especially when you a lazy so-and-so like me.
In fact, I will go for my snooze now because I have nothing particularly witty or word shatteringly pithy to say. Maybe I will come up with more interesting stuff after my trip to the Tynemouth Market tomorrow (or not as the case may be).

Blog resolution.
I will try to write something once a week. I hope to be interesting and to write more often so that I can pick up some followers and entertain them. I will try not to be controversial but will at all times aim for entertainment.

Now that I have 3 followers I'd better get blogging.
I wonder about what Ed Balls was saying re the cuts, or redistribution of spending, depending upon who you talk to. I have a feeling he may have been misunderstood. Could be he's saying that after the carnage caused by Cameron and his boys it will be impossible to do much other than sweep up the mess and try to start again. On the other hand he could just be a git. Whatever happens the Civil Service will once again take the brunt no doubt (easy target).
I did promise to talk about my travels but as they have been to Leeds or Manchester lately it didn't seem like a very exiting prospect. However, in February I will be going to a retiral do in Belfast and my Brother's 60th birthday trip to Edinburgh will take place so I hope to have some fun stories to tell. Or not as the case may be.
Also my American Nephew is marrying his strange fiancée in Ohio in the summer so I should be able to regale at least two of my avid followers with tales of Ohioan country folk marriage rites. My other avid follower will be with me, her being my dear wife and the blood relative of the poor mutt getting married. Having said that he's happy so who am I to say anything?

A Numpty travels.
My good friend Angus has suggested that as I am starting to go back to doing a bit more travelling I should put some comments on my blog about the places I've been so I will.
Over the last couple of weeks or so I have been in Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester and would recommend the Ibis in Glasgow as a reasonably priced place to stay ( the Novotel next door is also pretty good but costs a tad more). The State Bar just off Sauchiehall Street is always worth a visit.
The Copthorne in Birmingham is not bad, if a wee bit noisy but it is well placed for both Broad Street and the centre of town. The Shakespeare off New Street is a very pleasant watering hole.
Leeds Novotel is worth a stay, friendly staff although the rooms are a little warm at times. It is well placed for the station and is close to an Italian restaurant and a couple of bar/grills, that's bar/grills, not bear grylls. It is also handy for the city centre.

Its been a while
since I last said anything so I thought it about time to say hello to anyone who happens upon these ramblings and promise that at some stage I will say something interesting.
At the moment I am researching the next subjects I need to deliver courses on to colleagues later this month and in October and have just been involved in this year's leek show (more on leek shows another time) so I have been a little preoccupied.
I will try to blog more in the coming weeks and months and maybe even attract some readers.
